Native Vegetation in Action

We are creating a greener and more welcoming Yorke Peninsula Field Days site at Paskeville with the support of the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board’s Grassroots Grants Program.

Through this project, we are establishing 500 native trees, shrubs and understorey plants across selected areas and fence lines throughout the site.

These plantings will:

  • Create additional shade and shelter for our visitors and volunteers

  • Help reduce dust during large events

  • Provide greater protection from wind

  • Improve the overall appearance and amenity of our site

  • Increase native vegetation in a highly visible agricultural setting

  • Demonstrate the practical benefits of trees and native plants within productive farming landscapes

Importantly, this project is about more than improving our site. The plantings will create a living demonstration of how native vegetation can benefit agricultural properties, support biodiversity and contribute to community wellbeing.

Our committee members, volunteers and local SA Agricultural Bureau branches have worked together to help deliver the planting project. Their involvement demonstrates what can be achieved through community effort and targeted grant funding.

We sincerely thank the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board for supporting this project through its Grassroots Grants Program. Their funding has enabled us to improve our site and establish native vegetation that will benefit Field Days visitors, volunteers and the wider community for many years to come
